Who We Are

The Uzbek American Society of Houston (UASH) is a nonprofit organization founded in December 2022 by members of the Uzbek-American community in Houston. UASH is dedicated to sharing Uzbek culture and heritage, fostering meaningful community connections, and contributing to the cultural and social richness of Greater Houston. Through cultural, educational, and community-driven initiatives, UASH creates opportunities for people to connect, collaborate, and build lasting relationships while strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and the United States.

 

What We Do

  • Organize cultural festivals, traditional celebrations, and community events that bring people together while sharing the richness of Uzbek culture and heritage with the broader community.
  • Provide educational and cultural programs, including language classes, art workshops, culinary experiences, and informational sessions that encourage learning, connection, and cultural exchange.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, community organizations, and cultural groups to contribute to Greater Houston’s cultural diversity and strengthen understanding of Uzbekistan’s history, traditions, and values.
  • Create opportunities for meaningful cross-cultural engagement through collaborative events, community initiatives, and public outreach programs that encourage dialogue, connection, and shared experiences.
  • Encourage tourism and cultural exploration by introducing people to Uzbekistan’s rich history, architecture, hospitality, and natural beauty through community programs and travel-related initiatives.
  • Support professional and business connections between Houston and Uzbekistan by fostering relationships that encourage collaboration, innovation, investment, and mutual growth.

To cultivate a vibrant and engaged Uzbek - American diaspora that contributes positively to society, strengthens cross-cultural relationships, and serves as a bridge of collaboration, opportunity, and understanding between Uzbekistan and the United States.
